Raymond and Michelle Lim's wedding

My cousin Raymond Lim got married to his sweetheart Michelle Ong on the 9-1-10. The wedding was held in Tropicana Club. He is a fan of chocolate cake . Therefore, I decided made this 2 butter cake and 1 lustrious dark chocolate cake in the middle. The top one is a dummy cake with a handmade fondant couple sitting on it.
The cake was successfully made with the help of my family members. It was a big task in making a huge cake which is 14",11",8" , 6" width and almost 5" height.
Raymond said his family and his friends loved the cake. I'm glad to be part of it, hehe.
Thank you.

The process of making a 3 tier wedding cake. The bottom cake is a sugi cake, 2nd level is a butter cake and top cake is a chocolate cake. Three type of cake with different flavours at a go !:) My sister is clever in making the figurines. The figurines hasn't got it's touch up yet.
She is so buzy making X'mas cakes, birthday cakes until she fell ill after this wedding cake! :( She had sleepless nights thinking what and how to design the cakes! Finally it's over and she can rest on her weekend on the bed without thinking of any cake. Her blog can be view at http://heavenly-cakes.blogspot.com.
As for me, I'm just happy helping and enjoying my self with the process of making and decorating. My first lesson on wedding cake! Ha, ha! Next, I'll be also buzy making ginger bread house for my bro, wedding anniversary for my sister and x'mas cookies for the x'mas ever family gathering. The oven will ask for mercy if I were to continue baking!!

Wedding cake.

I was happy that today I helped my sister Angeline did a wonderful wedding cake for her lady friend's wedding. It was a 3 tier wedding cake with bottom (sugi cake),2nd level (butter cake) and top level(chocolate cake). The cakes were covered with fondant and the side design, piped with royal icing. The figurines were made from gum paste. The flowers were purchased earlier from Bake With Yen . It's cheap and nice. Save time too!:)
